About Justine Lister
Read Write & Ignite was created by me, Justine Lister.
I am passionate about teaching to the needs of the individual, focusing on wellbeing as well as academic achievement. Tutoring sessions are bespoke and tailored to link in with students’ hobbies and interests to ensure engagement, ease and comfort as we work together.
I firmly believe once a students’ confidence and engagement levels in a subject or topic are lifted, that higher attainment will naturally follow. Therefore, I take a holistic approach to tutoring starting by forging a positive relationship by focusing on what a student can do, rather than what they can’t.
I am wholeheartedly obsessed with the power of reading and all the opportunities that being a keen and enthusiastic reader can unlock. Wherever and whenever I can, in my work, I will strive to promote and engage reading and all its magic to anyone and everyone.

Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified English Teacher at secondary school level with experience in teaching students aged 11-18 working at KS3(Years 7-9) and KS4(GCSE)
- BA (Hons) English Language and Literature
- Masters Degree in Education (Research focus on implementing reading for pleasure strategies in schools and the wellbeing benefits of reading for pleasure)
- Management literacy lead and reading coach for local Read Easy Group
- Certified bibliotherapist
- Experienced in implementing reading intervention strategies within schools that promote reading for pleasure engagement.
- Current associate GCSE examiner 2022
